“The new headquarters of the Cáceres Fair wants to preserve the same generating spirit of the city of Cáceres, combining the aspects of the strength of the exhibition volume with the dreamlike aspect of social spaces.” AF
The new headquarters of the Cáceres Fair want to preserve the same generating spirit of the city of Cáceres, combining the strength of the exhibition volume with the dream-like aspect of the social spaces. A pragmatic (functional, compact, economic) act with an earthy appearance, is transformed through a sequence of transparent, mirroring, semi-transparent spaces, into a magical lighthouse. A specific chromatic choice seeks a material sensuality, now marked with signs that reveal the nature of the “fortress”, now reassuring and precious showing us the stratification of spaces where the horizontal movement of people becomes vertical.
A new landscape designed for day and night, overlooking the square, confronts itself in a game of shadows and reflections with the green volume that identifies the public space: a geometric forest that brings color and shadow, perfumes and pleasure. The new headquarters of the Fair body aim to be the center of new synergies, the starting point, and the metaphor of the ancient fortress houses, a synthesis of the mercantile, the historical and cultural spirit of Cáceres, but above all of its dialogue that merges with the territory.
