“To be able to imagine a building, a research site of excellence and multidisciplinarity, aimed at improving health and human well-being, must use man, the human being, as a real reference.
It is therefore necessary to create a place one can belong to, a place to look at. It must be a place that reassures us and make us reflect, it must remind us of the continuous movement of research, the passion, the responsibility, the vision of those who are committed to the future of each generation.
We imagine a simple building that hides the technological complexity it must possess. We imagine a building that can narrate the continuous growth of human knowledge and the constant attention to the care for humanity.
A building that is not a monument to itself but an accumulation of knowledge, in an almost infinite idea, as if it could continue to grow in different directions, like the three vectors in space.
Stratification is accumulation, and the different worlds stratify and accumulate: from natural to mineral, from scientific to human, from the technological one to the daily one, from collective to individual.
A building as a sum of several apparently similar buildings that speak to each other through a simple language that refers to light and its ability to create energy, comfort and perception.” AF
