The school structure uses the construction technique of prefabrication in wood and uses the reinforced concrete cores of the stairwells to stiffen the structure. The supporting structure is characterized by X-LAM walls along the corridors and by punctual pillars on the façade. In this way the partitions that divide the classrooms and the offices, free from structural constraints, together with the continuous windows and the choice of a partitioned floor heating system guarantee a multiple configuration of the spaces. The structure has been calibrated from the functional point of view, with 31 normal classrooms for at least 24 students, 20 normal classrooms for at least 30 students, 9 special classrooms that can accommodate from 14 to 19 students, a 156-seat main hall that can also be used as an Auditorium and a multi-purpose gymnasium for the student’s P.E. lessons in the morning and, starting from the afternoon, for team sports, approved by the sports clubs of the Municipality of Aosta and Plaine, such as volleyball and basketball, with the possibility of carrying out national sporting events with public attendance. The structure is therefore studied in the organization of its accesses, in structural and plant solutions and in the choice of equipment to host extra-curricular activities, managing both internal and external flows, in an easy and flexible way, adapting to every need.
