Our project for the new “multicampus” (medical-social and human sciences campus) of the University of Eastern Piedmont in Alexandria is intended to be a real urban environment hosting multiple teaching and research activities for several university departments. The program includes not only classrooms but also research and clinical trial laboratories for the University’s students and researchers.
The project site is on the edge of the historic center and the Orti district, to the north of the city, in the immediate vicinity of many new tertiary and cultural poles. The site is currently occupied by the city’s old fruit and vegetable market hall, demolished to accommodate the new “multicampus”.
The “multicampus” is intended to be a hub bringing together different university entities linked to the fields of medical-social and human sciences. It will also be a place of collective life, a place of sharing and exchange dedicated to knowledge, learning and human relations.
