A high-speed line crosses the land, uses it and provides it with a service which puts it on the “network”. The line around Vesuvius creates a system of relations with the land in an extraordinary combination of landscape and city, reality and dreams. Where these two lines come together provides the chance to invent a place more closely tied to the idea of a space inside an urban-agricultural park than that of a self-referential building closed onto itself.
The seamless sequence of open, open-closed, closed-open spaces forms a public space, which identifies with the sounds and scents of the land as it changes skin with the passing seasons. Interplays of reflections and transparencies, a variety of perspectives and framings of the landscape complete the journey.

• PROJECT VIDEOS:
> Competition for East Vesuvio Station, Naples

East Vesuvio station Naples, Italy 2009 program: Preliminary design for an interchange railway station between the lines Monte Vesuvio and Circumvesuviana, Naples total area: 8 000 m2 client: RFI project: Alfonso Femia * with O’dA Officina d’Architettura images: ©Atelier(s) Alfonso … Continue reading →

[7,3
1271,2203,815,687,2108,972,862,1689,1749
post-1421","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cities-landscape","category-public-buildings","tag-city","tag-high-speed","tag-italy","tag-landscape","tag-naples","tag-public-buildings","tag-reflections","tag-station","tag-transparencies","siglaprog-ncv
["GET
