For this installation, Alfonso Femia was inspired by the Nebra sky disk, the most ancient star map of the world.
\nThe Nebra sky disk is a metal plate – dating back to the Bronze Age – with gold applications that clearly depict astronomical phenomena and symbols which once held deep religious meaning. This sky disk is considered to be the oldest concrete depiction of the sky.
\nTime, as measured and governed by the sky, is a matter of the project according to Alfonso Femia. The Star Map evokes the relationship between Man and Time in which Man is placed on an infinitesimal scale of continuous generation of past and future.
