The market is located within a system of squares that structure the urban texture of the city at the foot of Mont Blanc.

The study for the covered market is an opportunity to develop an urban vision that systematizes the public spaces of the Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto square, the adjacent sports area, and the urban fabric.
The redevelopment of the Halles therefore creates an opportunity to evaluate the hypothesis of an open/covered structure on the square, for multifunctional use, capable of becoming the new attractor for touristic events, winter and summer fairs, and thus freeing the central square in its monumental beauty and the perception of the mountains that is perceived from it.

This project allows a greater connection with the system of urban redevelopment, the historic center, the system of walls and squares, and in addition to the intervention in the market, the reorganization of the adjacent sports area is also considered, enabling the city of Aosta to be versatile and to offer different uses of the city itself from different points of view: cultural, artistic, commercial, and sports.

The project consists of three acts:
– The first: the renovation of the Halles market. The internal layout is rethought by creating the sales areas on the ground floor and convivial areas on the first floor, as an exchange and meeting area.
– The second act: the creation of a new square placed in continuity with the historic squares and walls. The new cover, becomes a new market, a new opportunity where to sell local products or create exhibition areas for scheduled events.
Thus a synergistic system is created between the two volumes that enter into connection with each other and exchange flows.
The roof of the new market becomes an architectural element that changes during the different hours of the day, becoming more less reflective and dialoguing with the colors of the landscape.
– The third act: the sports field as a third square in succession to the first two.
Thus a sequence of areas is created that become meeting spaces and functions, the volumes facing them coexist, brushing against each other and creating relationships.

Recovery and enhancement the Covered Market of Aosta Aosta, Italy feasibility study 2017 program: Recovery and enhancement of the Covered Market of Aosta > area: – existing market renovation (lot 1): 3.165 m2 – new Vittorio Veneto Square coverage (lot … Continue reading →

[7,3
2360,1271,2847,2512,687,1662,2849,972,1030,689,1659,2281,1351,1706
post-8073","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cities-landscape","category-public-buildings","tag-aosta","tag-city","tag-covered-market","tag-feasibility-study","tag-landscape","tag-market","tag-municipal-market","tag-public-buildings","tag-recovery","tag-redevelopment","tag-renovation","tag-sports-field","tag-square","tag-tourism","siglaprog-amr
["GET
