This context is strongly characterized by the maritime and industrial identity of Marghera, which in recent years has seen the development of intense, radical and difficult urban regeneration operations, but which allow the reappropriation of these artificial territories by nature and public space. The new Maritime Station is part of this panorama, with the additional responsibility of giving substance to fundamental issues for the territory.”

First of all, the project works towards a reduction in the footprint and an increase in the permeable surface.
Our project proposes the creation of a volume, on two floors, dedicated to the new terminal. The latter is articulated perpendicularly and barycentrically in relation to the quay in the North channel.
The location of the terminal thus defines the areas of the project: the quay park, the outdoor car park, the multipurpose covered car park offering services open to the public, the connected park and the quayside area.
The park, “Parco della Darsena”, open onto the lagoon, becomes the arrival point of the cycle path and the pedestrian path, integral parts of the future development of the public space of the Brentella Canal. Coming from the north, the latter connects the large green, cultural and recreational areas of the San Giuliano Park and Fort Marghera with the project site, revitalizing the Vega area, the Darsena and the future Pili development area around a “green thread”.
The vegetation of the park, “Parco della Darsena”, crosses the terminal continuously to the opposite side where there will be parking spaces dedicated to buses, taxis and the drop-off point.
Passengers access the ships at the terminal exit via an elevated road parallel to the new quay. The zero level hosts the area dedicated to the handling of goods, baggage and the supply of ships.
A covered car park with approximately 1,000 spaces (cars) on three levels completes the proposed infrastructure. In addition, there is an additional level on the roof with catering, leisure and sports areas, terraces and shops. Accessible to all, these places offer the opportunity for new encounters and contribute to the public appropriation of the site and the strengthening of the city-port relationship.
The project thus aims to build a new identity through progressive, scalable, cyclical and sustainable development in economic, social and environmental terms.
The restructuring and enhancement of part of the industrial heritage aims to include the existing infrastructure, which is little or no longer used, in a new life cycle. The gantry crane, the water tank located in the centre of the site and the silos will be an integral part of the new landscape, becoming structuring and functional elements (rivers for irrigation, fire prevention, etc.).

New cruises terminal North Channel, Port of Marghera Venice (Itali) 2021 – in progress program: Construction of a new cruises terminal and its public spaces, North Channel, Port of Marghera, Venice area surface: 128.000 sqm terminal area: 14.000 sqm contracting … Continue reading →

[7
1271,828,2286,1646,687,1016,689,1017,979,1660,2970
post-8999","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cities-landscape","tag-city","tag-dialog","tag-environmental-sustainability","tag-green-spaces","tag-landscape","tag-port","tag-redevelopment","tag-sea","tag-water","tag-waterfront","tag-way","selezione-on-the-go","siglaprog-mtc
["GET
