This operation is part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
The site is located along the southwest coast of Calabria and features a beach surrounded by cliffs, historically known for tuna fishing. The intervention area covers an area of 3.6 hectares and extends over an arc of approximately 1 km.
The project aims to rethink the seafront development by reorganizing the road network and parking area, creating a cycle/pedestrian path, removing undesirable structures, rubble, and paved areas on the beach, and revegetating 50% of the site. The project also proposes the creation of a landscaped promenade and services such as squares, rest and play areas, beach sports fields, public showers and restrooms, as well as an event area. Natural protection systems (rocks and stone steps) have been installed to ensure the site’s high environmental and social quality.
The project plans to develop green spaces along the entire length of the beach with the planting of several rows of trees, small shrubs, and Mediterranean scrub. Near the beach, a dune system with wind-loving species is being reconstructed.
The planned interventions therefore include the demolition and de-paving of part of the site, the revegetation and reforestation of the area, the repair of the road network and road infrastructure (walkways, cycle paths, parking), the creation of street furniture, and the redevelopment of existing areas.

Redevelopment of the Tonnara waterfront Palmi (Italy) 2024-2025 program: Redevelopment of the Tonnara waterfront in Palmi – redesign of the beach, creation of a pedestrian promenade, re-organization of the traffic surface: 36.252 sqm contracting authority: City of Palmi project: Alfonso … Continue reading →

[7
1271,828,2286,634,1517,1646,815,687,1253,865,689,1017
post-9141","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-cities-landscape","tag-city","tag-dialog","tag-environmental-sustainability","tag-future","tag-green-areas","tag-green-spaces","tag-italy","tag-landscape","tag-nature","tag-public-space","tag-redevelopment","tag-sea","selezione-on-the-go","siglaprog-ptp
["GET
