The immense landscape and natural value of the site makes the process extremely complex and delicate, first requiring the recovery of a portion of land that was once occupied by the sea. It is therefore appropriate to carry out a restoration intervention that does not disrupt the existing hydrogeological balance, but rather aims to mitigate any potential critical issues.”

The project for the park and the Marina del Giunchetto is based on the idea of a device for perceiving the context, the landscape, and the horizon. It does not aim to build a new urban landscape, but rather to reconnect the relationship between the hill and the sea, and to attribute value to the infrastructure as a landscape between nature and artificiality.

Master Plan Guidelines
The guidelines we aim to propose in the Master Plan lead to the formulation of an urban and landscape framework that does not overlook, but rather enhances the presence of the cycle path, making it the most evocative segment: a naturalistic area between sea and countryside, which seamlessly connects to the new project as a natural and infrastructural continuation, capable of guiding people – both perceptually and functionally – toward the sea, the marina, the horizon.

Project Area
The project area is located to the west of the urban center of Ospedaletti, bounded to the north by the route of the former railway line. It measures approximately 845 meters in width and 340 meters in depth. The site, crossed by the Rio Porrine, Rio Pini Pelotta, and Rio Termini, is mostly flat, with a surface area of around 100,000 square meters.

Green System
The area holds significant landscape and environmental value, a fundamental aspect of the new proposal, which aims to enhance the area through an objective process of environmental and territorial regeneration, extremely complex and delicate, focusing on the recovery of a portion of land that was once occupied by the sea.

Road System
The existing road network follows the complex and constrained morphology of the land. The design proposal defines a solution that seeks a non-invasive traffic system, sometimes concealing it, sometimes integrating it with the coastal infrastructure.

New tourist marina 2020: “Park & Marina del Giunchetto”.
