“The three macro-areas of interest in the project are: the unified garden-park system and the identity of the town hall, the monumental urban axis, and the crosswalk, a punctual system of events and situations.” AF
Vittorio Veneto Square, the subject of the project, accommodates the Municipal Headquarters of the Municipality of Gussago, which has its main entrance on Via Peracchia, a large parking lot with a modest tree endowment, which also has the function of hosting the weekly Saturday market and the Togni Civic Hall. To the north of the Municipal Headquarters is a garden-park with a good arboreal endowment, while on the east side of the Headquarters is the war memorial overlooking the square on whose porphyry pavement is reproduced a mosaic depicting the route of the Canale stream with the main hubs of Gussago and its oldest streets. In the parking area there is also a monument to the National Association of Disabled Workers.

The planned intervention consists of:
– the redevelopment of the area in front of the existing stores;
– the revisitation of the central square in front of the parish of Santa Maria Assunta;
– revisiting the park’s elevations with the aim of obtaining terraced bands at different elevations that gradually lower until they reach the elevation of the town hall;
– repaving of the sidewalk that runs around the entire intervention lot;
– redistribution of the parking area giving way to a one-way street so as to discourage continuous vehicle transit and regularize its flow.
