“An atypical environment, combining the typical fabric of the suburbs along the old rural tracks, between social housing and railway lines.” AF
At the very edge of the Garonne, this emblematic site is the perfect example of a territory marked by highly contrasting uses. The site’s history and geography make it an atypical environment, combining the typical fabric of the suburbs along the old rural tracks, between social housing and railway lines. Here, the first goals are based on this dual approach combining dialogue and integration between heritage and renewal. In this way, the Quai Wilson street becomes a major axis for redevelopment, restoring Bègles’ identity.

The site is built around strong environmental components that give the project plot a unifying role. The movement of the Garonne River to the east echoes the green stretch on the south side, home to a magnificent park. To the north, a magnificent late 19th-century residence stands adjacent to the plot.
