Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia in Aosta for the recovery of the market hallAtelier(s) Alfonso Femia presented the project for the recovery of the Municipal Market building and the study for the redevelopment of the area facing it. Placed in the historic center of Aosta, the market is located within a system of squares which structure the urban tissue of the city at the feet of the Mont Blanc.
“The study of the market hall is an opportunity to develop an urban vision that establishes a connection between the public spaces of Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto square, the adjacent sporting area and the urban tissue. The redevelopment of the Halles therefore creates the opportunity to evaluate the hypothesis of an open/covered structure on the square, for a multifunctional use, capable of becoming the new attractor for touristic events, for the winter and summer fairs, and thus freeing the central square in its monumental beauty and the perception of the mountains perceived by it. Creating a system of public spaces and spaces for relationships, including the reorganization of the sporting area, will allow the city of Aosta to offer, throughout the year, simultaneous uses of the city which will enrich the cultural, artistic, commercial and touristic offer.” Alfonso Femia
