On April 8, the construction site of the Linear Park of Trieste was entrusted to the group of companies led by the CNS Consortium.
The project signed by Alfonso Femia / Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia with Michelangelo Pugliese and Giovanni Damiani provides a cutting-edge vision of urban public space.
The layout of the park will follow the historical traces of the tracks and gauges, inserting squares, fitness trails, natural cooling areas with running canals between two lakes, breaks and a cycle/pedestrian path over a 3-kilometer extension.
Respect for the place and its memory and a landscape vision that reconnects the social aggregative function to the urban one: this is the heart of the project. The blue and green connections, a careful study of biodiversity guarantee sustainability and eco-coherence.
The enlightened vision of the mayor, Roberto Dipiazza, represents a fundamental contribution to the development of the project.
Urban transformation oriented towards a strategic vision of public space and the relationship between city and territory is a peculiar approach of Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia, which operates at very different scales and geographies, attributing a real planning meaning to the word regeneration, as in the redevelopment of the seafront in Palmi, the Falcata area in Messina, the citadel of Livorno, the territorial regeneration of Passo Gardena.
