Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia has delivered the final design for the “G. B. Cavalcaselle ” school complex project in Legnago (VR).

The project, winner of the competition, rethinks schools as an integral part of the urban fabric: a topic discussed and explored by Alfonso Femia in the last year through the research project "Scuola Social Impact ".

"The buildings open towards the territory and develop around the idea of an open courtyard, capable of creating both an intimate and functional system, a glimpse between moments capable of developing a functional and pragmatic system, but also to give life to a human dimension in which students can identify themselves.
Leaving the courtyards open on one side means turning architecture into a sort of sentimental education, connected to the territory, and to the gaze of those who will be living in those places." AF
