OPENING / VR234 _ MIX-USED BUILDING, PRATOA project that becomes part of the architecture of the city: 2025 begins with the delivery of the redevelopment of the mix-used building VR234, made of housing and offices, in Prato, Tuscany. The building was an anonymous and low-quality complex, located at the entrance to the city, neat the Pecci Museum. The redevelopment made by Alfonso Femia / Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia transforms the complex into a landmark on Viale della Repubblica, integrating nature as the final piece of the volume whose new transparent envelope plays with variable geometries.
The main façade, whose levels are marked by protruding slabs emphasizing the band of each floor, is entirely glazed and folds to form curved and convex angles in an alternating manner; the whole is surrounded by side fronts in Diamant ceramic.
