PINQUA – MULTIFUNCTIONAL HUB, CAGLIARI

The rehabilitation of the former Fornaci Picci for services and apartments at subsidized rents, in Quartu Sant'Elena, falls into the National Innovative Program for Housing Quality, an investment plan, under the Pnrr, promoted by the Ministry of Infrastructure to carry out social housing and urban regeneration interventions throughout Italy.
Fourteen million euros will be allocated to the redevelopment of the former Fornaci Picci, an important area in the renewal process of the metropolitan city of Cagliari.

The project, by Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia, will transform the brick factory into a multifunctional hub that will accommodate public spaces, services, green areas, bike paths and social housing.
Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2022.

"Along with Mantua and Corigliano Rossano, this is the third project under PINQuA to be awarded to our firm. Our work is focused on the urban scale, encouraging an active relationship between living, working and socialization, through architecture."

Project by Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia with Studio Professionisti Associati, Tech Project, and Michelangelo Pugliese.
