Winners of the competition launched by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux in the spring of 2022, Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia is developing, alongside ITE Partners, the rehabilitation of the restaurant and the development of a new bookshop, educational premises, and improvement of the premises staff in the Vauban building on the Frioul Islands in Marseille.
Our project is part of a location that welcomes 100,000 people a year and whose rehabilitation affirms the desire to improve the services offered to visitors and students. This place, steeped in architectural history and surrounded by a unique landscape, aims to become the support for future-oriented uses.
Our project rehabilitates the site in all its dimensions. It depicts reality. Our ambition is to seek a balance between the historical role of the complex and its daily use. We intend to highlight the existing heritage and affirm its identity, already strong and anchored to the site, to offer it a powerful future.
