“Two functional areas: one more intimate and introverted, while the other opens up to the general public through a sequence of three broken courtyards set out along the main directions.” AF
The Master Plan for the area works simultaneously on the state of generative urbanity and existing farm identity. The commercial and managerial buildings exploit the accessibility and visibility of the main infrastructure facing directly onto it and creating a distinctive urban front. The central backbone is devoted to high-density housing: the various types of housing form a quieter and more private backdrop enjoying a view across the countryside. The religious and sports-education facilities form the area’s two functional linchpins (exceptional urban objects in terms of their size, form and function): one more intimate and introverted, which runs across a low courtyard to embrace the old church setting up new relations with the outside, the other extrovert opening up to the general public through a sequence of three broken courtyards set out along the main directions.
