“A magical and unique place cannot fail to recover in the future the exceptional condition that created it. It cannot fail to turn its gaze and continue where the horizon is unique, where earth, sea and sky chase each other endlessly.” AF
A magical and unique place cannot fail to recover in the future the exceptional condition that created it. It cannot fail to turn its gaze and continue where the horizon is unique, where earth, sea and sky chase each other endlessly. This process must be sincere and natural. It must re-establish a balance between nature and artifice, between Man and his works, between nature and its characteristics. Messina must not aspire to become another city, it must aspire to be Messina, a capital of the Mediterranean Sea, a unique and magical place. Messina must enhance its frailties and strengthen its identities. We believe that the opportunity of this project is important to establish a pragmatic founding principle with a vision. The pragmatic answer is that of wanting to be “real”, wanting to propose a real and spontaneous metamorphosis. The city where the city is already located, nature where nature is missing, artifice where the city wants to connect with the Mediterranean, an urban response where it is necessary to relate with other places. The vision we propose is exclusively an answer for Messina. Like a giant, immersed in myth, a first “step” towards the conquest of its future.
