“The continuous developments and transformations of a hospital facility, must be able to accommodate the evolving needs in the field of medical care, in its technologies, and in its relationship with patients.” AF
Transforming the complexity of a functional program into an urban, environmental and social calm area is the requirement for the Bellinzona hospital complex.
The location being the former military area called the “Saleggina” demands the realization of a project capable of providing flexibility, adaptability and modularity to a structure that can be adaptable over time.
The continuous developments and transformations of a hospital facility, must be able to accommodate the evolving needs in the field of medical care, in its technologies, and in its relationship with patients.
The project plans to make the most of the 203,000 square meters of gross floor area through three project phases, with volumes that can interact with a context in which the natural element must be foundational to their development.
