“The “new” architecture facilitates the vertical rhythm, reconciles volumetric and technical constraints, establishes a uniformity and a facade protection system that reveals, in progression, the two transparent and mirrored ends.” AF
The project stems from the need to refurbish and enhance the property on Via Vespucci 2 in Milan, in order to develop a building that addresses both context and future. This goal is all the more challenging and topical since the object of the redevelopment is an existing building in an urbanized context. Therefore, the project emphasizes the revelation of different physical and visual dimensions, the corner, the basement part of an “exedra” design, a perspective urban axis front, a detachment and a terrace floor where the volumes can create a gap between them, a new crowning glory: this is the goal of the transformation. The “new” architecture facilitates the vertical rhythm, reconciles volumetric and technical constraints, establishes a uniformity and a facade protection system that reveals, in progression, the two transparent and mirrored ends. In a continuous interplay with natural daylight and darkness mitigated by city lighting at night, the building will take on an ever-changing and dynamic character.
The focus on the present and future of the role of architecture itself is fundamental, a new object capable of setting new standards in terms of environmental sustainability, well-being and quality of work experience.
