The project is composed of two founding visions: the image of the technological object, made of portions of circular crowns, rotated and fitted into each other, and the idea of a continuous rolling up ribbon. Those two concepts join together in an idea of “Eccentric block”, that is to say a technological object with a central plan, obliquely positioned in respect to the motorway, that with its smoothness and brightness, differentiates itself from the world of asphalt and noise. The building, for this idea of estrangement and detachment, is separated from the ground. On the ground floor, in fact, there is only the ramp and the big red, almost pop “A” of Autogrill, 6 metres tall; visible from the motorway and faraway, it heroically and essentially embodies the theme of communication: the access to the building happens passing under its shadow; it also marks the motorway thanks to its geometrical shapes.
