“The envelope becomes a technological device, in which systems and structures, concentrated according to a rhythmic scan, become a reason for immediate recognition.” AF
The project involves the expansion and redefinition of the existing University Campus, which, up to today, represents for the city of Lodi an important economic and social resource: there are two separate lots in which are located the new buildings for Veterinary Medicine (departments, laboratories and classrooms/common spaces) and Agriculture (departments).
The new volumes are organised sequentially, identifying a complex with a compact shape but highly permeable in terms of its flow of users.
The articulated allocation of the interior spaces characterised by great flexibility, made possible the almost total elimination of all plant and structural constraints: the building shell becomes a technological device, in which plant and structure, concentrated according to a rhythmic scansion, become a reason for immediate recognition.
