“Territories, infrastructure, the city, nature, and architecture must be able to engage in dialogue with one another in order to gradually shape a shared vision over time.
A programmed and synergic green lung, bringing together outdoor and indoor activities.
The agricultural park merges with the olive groves dedicated to research; cycle-pedestrian paths outline a renewed fragment of landscape; folies are strategically inserted into the rural fabric, creating a natural network of services.”

The strategic masterplan for Corigliano-Rossano was developed with the aim of guiding the urban transformation of the city, reflecting the union between the historic municipalities of Corigliano Calabro and Rossano. This union represents a unique opportunity to build a new shared identity without erasing the historical, cultural, and social specificities of each community. The project aims to create an integrated, accessible, and sustainable city with modern services, connected infrastructure, and high-quality public spaces.
A central element of the masterplan is the identification of a barycentric area between the two urban centres, strategically conceived to host key functions and strengthen the city’s physical and symbolic integration. New urban poles will rise here: the new Sibaritide Hospital, cultural spaces, accommodation facilities, and above all, a comprehensive sports system.
Particular attention is given to the redevelopment of the Palasport in Insiti, a structure currently in a state of abandonment but highly significant for the community. The plan includes the reconstruction of a modern, functional, and safe sports facility, capable of hosting sporting and cultural events, promoting sports practice at all levels, and becoming a reference point for citizens and the surrounding territory. The new arena will not only be a place for sports but also a social catalyst, a symbol of regeneration and urban renewal.
The sports area integrates with the urban park, developed across three thematic bands: sports-cultural, hospitality, and naturalistic. The sports band includes a network of facilities for indoor and outdoor activities, flexible public spaces, and soft-mobility paths in continuous dialogue between infrastructure and nature. It will be possible to practice sports, participate in events, and enjoy moments of social interaction in accessible, safe spaces designed for all ages.
